I have to admit that the problem with our experience was the rating given, presumably by other TripAdvisor reviews, of 4+ and even more so by TripAdvisor listing it as the 2nd best restaurant in Séguret. I can only assume that the previous good reviews...were made when the restaurant was having better times or perhaps were overly influenced by the basic ambiance of Seguret rather than the restaurant itself. Certainly, it is NOT the 2nd best restaurant in Seguret but a distant last. Located at the end of the main path through Seguret. With (standing) views across the Roix Seguret area. The menu had an unusual format in that you picked either a salad or a hot main and then dessert was included in the price. I had...a duck and Fois Gras salad with walnuts, although I noticed the walnuts were missing and had to ask for them. My husband had a steak that was more rare, than medium rare, as ordered and the fries were a sliced potato rather than a chip, plus some vegetables but all was deemed to be tasty. In July 2012 we stayed in nearby Sablet, and enjoyed a number of dinners at Cafe des Poternes. The food is lovely and very reasonably priced, and Remy is a great host. The terrace is a gorgeous place to sit on a warm summer's evening, and enjoy a glass of wine.Highly recommended.
we have eaten here after three years. it is still a pleasant wise to spend a few hours eating nice eating, served by competent people in a quite amazing environment at a very affordable price. we will return.
High quality French cuisine. Enjoyed the Entrecôte steak great flavour but quite tough and chewy (hence 4 stars not 5). Lovely service, always very friendly, and great wine (of course).
