"A great French style cafe in Old Town Alexandria. I had a Croque Madam and Croque Monsouir, the egg on the Croque Madam was not quite cooked to my liking (clear jelly on top of the white). Aside from that they cold pressed orange juice was delicious, as we're both of the sandwiches."

We were searching for a lunch spot away from the main street in Old Town and decided to give Cafe Du Soleil a try based on Yelp reviews. Unfortunately, it did not meet our expectations and we likely won't be returning. Here's why: 1) The food options included crepes and other items. My wife ordered a vegetable crepe and I ordered the croque madame. Neither of our dishes were particularly impressive, and my croque madame came with a fried egg instead of the traditional poached egg. The standout dishes were our daughter's quiche lorraine and the Nutella crepe. The prices were also on the high side for the mediocre quality of the food. 2)

I was thrilled when I entered the restaurant because the atmosphere was perfect and the space was amazing. However, the person who took my order seemed very tired and made several mistakes. I ordered a flat white without specifying the size, and they brought me a huge 16oz cup filled to the top. A traditional flat white is usually 5oz, so I was confused. The cafe should properly label their drinks if they are not going to serve traditional sizes. I also ordered the quiche Lorraine, which was just okay.

I moved to old town from Seattle and finding good coffee hasn?t been the easiest feat. This place is truly a hidden gem. They don?t have a sign that hangs perpendicularly to the building so you have to be close to notice it. Excellent coffee fantastic food! I love the savory crepes (smoked salmon prosciutto are so tasty! and I feel like I taste summer joy every time I have an iced oat milk coconut latte. The staff are so friendly and welcoming and the atmosphere is

GREAT spot! The inside is wonderful and unique, they have a lot of different seating options. The service was great, they got my order out so quickly. I highly highly recommend the crème brûlée (danish? every bite was a taste of heaven. I could definitely see myself coming here every day to work, meet with friends, get a cup of coffee to go. Absolutely worth checking out!
