Cafe Girassol - Reserva de mesa

Girassol is an adorable cafe between the Lima River and downtown Viana do Castelo, walkable from anywhere in town. It's so cool it's round, and big glass windows look at the park where the cafe is situated, making you forget the busy ness around you. The staff is helpful and friendly, even to the Americans bumbling with the Portuguese language. AND, for about $4, we had 3 Americano coffees and 2 amazing pastries! We will go back, for sure. There is beer on tap (though we didn't have any at 9:30 a.m.... , and I heard there are sandwiches??

One of the oldest cafés in Viana do Castelo, strategically located in the middle of the city of Municipal Park, just on the river! Open 6 days a week, all day, from 8:30 am to 2 pm, it is a perfect place to have breakfast or to come with friends, in the afternoon or at night. Definitely, one of the must visit places in Viana that you will just love.

We stop in here most Sundays for a coffee and a slice of delicious homemade cake. Very nice staff. Pleasantly situated in the park. Typical cafe offerings including alcohol and snacks, ice-cream, etc. Very pleasant on a hot day to sit in the shade and watch folks enjoy the park.

We are traveling on a tight budget and found this gem of a spot. Sweet €5 deal for soup+sandwich+cool drink+ coffee during the week. Staff a very friendly, the helped me with taxis etc and its vibey at night Reserva una mesa ahora

We came here every day of our stay. All the staff were friendly and helpful (ordering taxis) and making sure we understood the menu. An all round good experience. We will be back definitely !

Girassol offers a wide choice of drinks. The waiters a very kind and work most efficient. We loved to have our after dinner CR&F at Girassol.
