Restaurant Café Kostbar

Cost: € pp I set out to eat brunch on a sunny Saturday in Saarbrücken within walking distance from my hotel. Unfortunately, most places were closed and I ended up here due to limited choices. Am glad I did. The girls were very welcoming,...despite their limited English. With an enjoyable challenge I was able to get their recommendation and ordered a dish specific to this state (Saarland). The ambience was that of a traditional cafe with basic wooden furniture and seating either on the warm cozy inside or the chilly liberating outside. I went with the former. We planned ahead of our trip to Saarbrucken to visit Cafe Kostbar due to the good reviews and decent Vegan options. My girlfriend is Vegan so often finds it hard to find a decent meal to eat when we go out. However, Cafe Kostbar's options...were amazing. The menu wasn't the biggest but it supplied a generous variety of different food from steaks to vegan meat substitutes. The outside seating area was in a beautiful little courtyard which had trees/vines overhead as well as fairy lights. The atmosphere was relaxing, the service was perfect and the cost was great value for money. Overall I would recommend Cafe Kostbar to anyone who is passing through Saarbrucken!

I didn’t know this district of Saarbrucken before and I found it interesting to explore. The location in itself is in a courtyard and it is supposed to be extra friendly in the summer, I can believe that. I hope I can soon give it...a new try. The service in the restaurant is extremely friendly. At the time of our visit, there was not enough choice of main courses to my taste. But the dish I selected was good. I had a nice evening.

Ich war dort aufgrund einer Empfehlung und habe ein Abendessen in der Gartenwirtschaft genossen. Eine schöne Auswahl an Speisen und Getränken, wer gerne mal was anders sucht ist hier goldrichtig, Vegetarier und Veganer kommen hier ganz selbstverständlich auf Ihre Kosten. Das Restaurant ist nicht billig, aber auch nicht teuer, aber jeden Cent wert. Ich jedenfalls komme gerne wieder

We went there for Brunch buffet. The service and atmosphere was very good. The quality of food was also reasonable. Options were available for vegans, vegetarians and non-vegetarians. However, the price was high for the quality of food and the menu. There were very few...warm dishes, so the whole experience was like either breakfast or snack menu.

Good kitchen, nice athmosphere, deep in secret heart of Saarbrücken (inside a culture courtyard in Nauwieser Quarter). Not very loud. It could become hard for people with physical restriction to get to the main desk Floor), but the open air tables in the courtyard...are solving that problem (dependend on weather and season).

Wir hatten 2 verschiedene Mahlzeiten ausprobiert und beide Male war das Essen eher schon kalt,die Tomatensauce sehr schlecht schmeckend,der Kartoffelgratin absolut pappig,das Panna Cotta nicht zu genießen und das Gesamtensemble hat zu diesem Preis nicht überzeugt.Es gibt wesentlich bessere Adressen.

Waren mit Kollegen zusammen Essen im Cafe Kostbar. Das Essen war lecker und die Bedienung super freundlich. Ich war das erste Mal dort , aber sicher nicht zum letzten mal.
