I have been to Cafe Portbleue on a number of occasions over the past 7 years or so, and to be honest, I've been a bit lukewarm about the place. Possibly, as an English visitor, I've wanted something more authentically French and it's had too much of an English feel about it, not least because the waiting staff tended to be English and the food was ok but not outstanding . However after my recent experience, my view has changed. An excellent meal...my cod loin was cooked to perfection and my cafe gourmand delicious. Kir Royale as an aperitif, reasonably priced wine , good service from French staff. All in all, an excellent dining experience. Highly recommended!
Normally lunchtime customers, this was our first evening meal here and it did not disappoint. The great atmosphere was due in part to the service provided by the charming young French staff but also to the buzz of conversation from happy diners. A further factor contributing to the success of this restaurant is the enthusiasm of the owner, Nat. His winning formula attracts a broad clientele including the local French who frequently outnumber other nationalities.
Vraiment déçu! nous nous étions fiés aux bonnes notes pourtant sur tripadvisor!le service a été trés long (3/4d heure entre chaque plat)du coup nous n avons pas manger en méme temps que les enfants, ma fille a trouvé un insecte dans sa salade!!!la corbeille de pain ne contenait que 4 morceaux de pain alors que nous étions 5, c est sur c est pas cher,mais les plats ne sont pas beaucoup fournis!
Très bon accueil, ambiance agréable. Penser à réserver en pleine saison car vite complet.Cuisine maison délicieuse !Les seuls bémols serait peut-être qu'il propose tout de suite le menu du jour, il faut demander la carte.Et pour l'apéro il n'y a pas de petits gâteaux ou amuse bouche, c'est dommage.

Arrivés par hasard dans ce restaurant, quel plaisir.Une grande salle avec des tables où l'on ne mange pas au coude à coude, les chiens sont bienvenus, l'ambiance est bon-enfant, les serveurs et serveuses charmants et professionnels, et... On y mange très bien !
Pour un prix modique, un menu très correct sans prétention mais préparé avec des produits frais et de bonne qualité. Service rapide et agréable. Si vous passer par Verteuil, n'hésitez pas à vous y arrêter.
Lovely food, good service and a friendly ambience. Perfect for a sociable lunch.3 tasty courses and wine for under 15 euros......you can't complain at that!
