We're now in the second month of trip that has taken us from Holland to Germany, to Hungary and finally to our own home away from home in Italy. Compared to the Stephan's Dom itself, I found the café named after it, positioned to the right of the entrance behind a courtyard, much more interesting. This attraction was a real chance discovery on our trip through Passau, with great food, pastry and drinks. The best part of Café Stephan's Dom is the interior: absolutely exciting and designed with a fine touch of modern style and art, something you would not expect in a historic building like this. An experience you'd not want to miss.My daughter forgot her mobile phone in the café but it was found after we had left and sent to us by the owner straight away, real hospitality. I will surely return!
Leider können wir uns den guten Bewertungen nicht anschließen.Auf die Reklamation einer in den Sahnekuchen eingearbeiteten toten Wespe reagierten zwei Kellnerinnen äußerst unhöflich (“Die ist jetzt erst in den Kuchen geflogen!“, “Die war ohnehin schon tot!“). Der Kuchen wurde zwar ersetzt, auf eine Entschuldigung von Seiten des Personals warteten wir aber vergeblich. Dessert overload. Never have I ever heard anyone say that the dessert was too generous up until now. I found the portion perfect. My partner said it was a too big inspite of having skipped lunch. The place is shabby chic mixed with a touch of modern roccoco extravagance and service was prompt and super friendly. Will pass by there again when we drive through the area.

We stopped here for kaffee and kuchen. They had a nice selection of cakes and their coffee was very good. There is an outside terrace that has some limited seating, but we found a spot there that was quiet and pleasant. Others around us were having lunch, and everything looked fresh and tasty. I want to come back sometime and try their lunch. A great place to stop!
In einem Hinterhof unweit des St. Stephans Doms gelegen, bietet das Café eine riesige und ausgezeichnete Kuchenauswahl und wenn man das Glück hat einen der Tische am Fenster zu ergattern hat man auch einen wunderbaren Blick.
Nach dem ersten Besuch im Winter, waren wir diesmal an einem Nachmittag im Sommer bei einer Latte Macchiato und einem guten Stück Kuchen auf der schönen Terrasse. Auch diesmal waren wir hier recht zufrieden.
