First of all: the actual coffee at Veits is delightful. When it comes to food you will not find haute cuisine at touristy prices but very austrian food at high standard. The service is friendly, the wines lovely, the sweets delightful. I have been there many times and never have been disappointed. Note: next door to the Cafe and by the same owners is a lovely "pension" (B&B) with very cosy clean rooms and a hearty breakfast buffet at a very good price. The bus stop into Vienna city is literally in front of their door...a great alternative to the overpriced hotels in town.
So we went to a nice dinner, because all the other restaurants didn't look good. The restaurant Veit looks very nice from outside, but inside it is very old and friendly dirty. We ordered the food and it came with various things that were not on the menu. Like my salad with halloumi came with sweet-chilli souce and not with tzatziki as on the menu. Overall, the food was good, but I had a quick look into the kitchen and I could say it was disgusting. Please clean your kitchen! I'm really afraid I'm getting sick...
Happened on this place while seeking a restaurant close to hotel while it was raining. Pleasantly surprised by decent quality of the dishes (Austrian) and the friendliness of the staff. We returned the next night and sat outside. Because of the rain on the previous day, mosquitoes were out in force. The proprietor offered us mosquito repellent. We thought that was very considerate.
We went for a quick dinner. The interior is very tired but the service was lovely and the food ( Tafelspitz for myself , Leberknödelsuppe and Schnitzel and Kartoffelsalat for my husband) very good. I would recommend it if you pass trough Klosterneuburg.The food and the nice waiter made up for the rather depressing atmosphere and we would definitely come back

Unfortunately, despite a quiet evening, the service was quite bad, the waitress was surly and spent the previous week cycling along the Danube with excellent service everywhere we were surprised by this. The food was okay.
Nice little place in Klosterneuburg, service ok, food was typical Austrian and tasted very good. Nice wine recommended for the food, a place where the locals go out to eat to. Would go back if I am ever in the area.
Fünf Sterne weil das ist sehr solide und sehr gute Küche, schnelles und aufmerksames Service und Super gutes Preis/Leistungsverhältnis, auch sehr gute Mittagsmenues (auch für Eilige)
Excellent! Delicious! Traditional! Great service! If you want 'Austria' and not some generic chain restaurant, then this is the place for you!
