I highly recommend trying this place if you're craving a hearty breakfast. Just a tip: if you opt for takeout, it's best to bring your own bag. They only provide paper bags, which tend to tear easily, especially if you order something substantial. I've almost dropped my food a couple of times because of this!
Fantastic selection of food, and they're accommodating if you want to customize your order. The portions are substantial enough to keep you satisfied for five to six hours. Definitely try anything with their Pico de Gallo—it's absolutely delicious! The juices are all freshly made and served generously. You might be surprised at how good the coffee is for that part of Steinway.
Their iced coffee is really delicious! They shake the espresso shots before pouring the milk over so you can really taste the espresso and it’s one of my favorite places on Steinway to get coffee. And their lemonade is PERFECT. It’s the right blend of sweet and sour. We asked for a few lemon slices to add in and they were happy to. Great service every time!
Cafe Via Espresso is a welcoming coffee shop that opens early and serves the most amazing spicy bacon, egg, and cheese sandwich on thin bread, paired with delightful homemade banana bread. It’s my favorite place to grab breakfast before heading to work.

I recently came across this restaurant and enjoyed both breakfast and lunch there, and the food was outstanding on both occasions. I've also learned that after 3 PM, they switch to a Mexican dinner menu and stay open until midnight.
I’ve visited this restaurant several times when my son lived nearby, and I highly recommend it to everyone. The food is fantastic, and the staff is really friendly. I plan to return on my next trip!
