We ordered a starter for two, a pizza for me, and a salmon dish for my girlfriend. The starter was acceptable, but my pizza was dry and came with canned mushrooms. The restaurant sign claims to offer "fine Italian cuisine," but our experience did not match this description. The food was average in quality, and we were disappointed to find discrepancies between the prices listed on the menu and the prices on our bill. Additionally, we were surprised by the high prices charged for items from a kids menu that was not clearly advertised. When we questioned this, the manager explained that they do not actually have a kids menu. Overall, the restaurant seemed to have more of a pizzeria atmosphere rather than a high-end Italian dining experience. It would be beneficial for them to clarify their offerings and establish consistent pricing.
Everyone has their own experiences, both positive and negative. The reality is that not every chef or cook is always performing at their best, or you might encounter a new chef. There are many reasons why someone might have a disappointing experience, whether it's related to the food or the service. This is my second time ordering from Café Capri (I haven't dined in person yet), and the food has been amazing. I can only imagine how great it will be when I finally eat there. On our second visit, my girlfriend and I tried the spaghetti carbonara and penne alla vodka, and we were both very impressed!

I've been coming to this restaurant since my daughter was three years old. My daughter is now eleven. She loves to come here for the amazing oven brick pizza and Pasta. Everybody should come and try their lunch special with their new home made focaccia bread. With $13.00 dollars you can have a gourmet lunch? besides the stuff goes above and beyond to please You, and Dominic *the owner* is the most friendly guy I've ever met. I Love the way he treats his customer. Overall Cafe Capri is our favorite Italian restaurant in East Rutherford.
I don't give bad ratings but the service and treatment my family received is unacceptable. We had to send one dish back because it was an undercooked fish. It was brought back not fixed after we asked to take it off the bill they put the dish half price. After asking for another adjustment the server came back saying that we don't need to leave a tip only for us to realize that the tip was already charged.
The service at this restaurant was exceptional from the moment we walked in. Despite being the only customers at the time, our waiter went above and beyond to ensure we had a wonderful dining experience. The food was also delicious. Don't be put off by any negative reviews - this place is truly a hidden gem. I highly recommend giving them your business.
