I had never been to this cake store previously due to reading some poor reviews, however after a friend had an amazing cake by this store at her daughters party, I decided to try it out and ordered a birthday cake for by daughters 4th birthday. We ordered the vanilla sponge with custard, with a cream icing.After now seeing and tasting both cakes (the other party had a vanilla sponge with custard and mango, with a marzipan decorative topping), I would definitely recommend Cakes Delight. Mucho tiempo al cliente y he intentado la mayor parte de sus pasteles. Favorito es la pera y el pastel de matcha. Es un poco diferente de los pasteles tradicionales occidentales, pero el sabor sigue siendo realmente agradable y siempre están felices de hacer solicitudes de cumpleaños. Encuentro que el servicio es realmente bueno (¡no estoy seguro de lo que todos están hablando?). Long time customer and have tried most of their cakes. Favourite is the pear and the matcha cake. It is a bit different from traditional Western cakes but the flavour is still really nice and they are always happy to do requests for birthdays. I find the service to be really good (not sure what everyone else is talking about?). They moved spots on Canning Hwy so I parked around the corner outside Hayashi Japanese restaurant and when I went into the shop the lady was kind enough to tell me they had parking right behind the shop for next time.
Terrible customer service! First time visiting the shop and was gonna order a cake and asked around about the different flavours, but after the rudeeeeee service, we left the store AND WON'T BE BACK. Always a pleasure visiting this cake shop. Chatting to the owner he has trained in some of the top hotels in Japan and Singapore before coming to Australia, and you can see these influences in his baking, flavours and delightful presentation. My favourite cake is definitely the raspberry one, highly recommended. Looking forward to trying more flavours in the near future!
Ordered a matcha cake a couple of hours before picking it up, for $36.50. The cake was really nice, a good size with lovely matcha flavour, light fluffy sponge & azuki (red bean) layer inside. Not overly sweet which was great. Will definitely be back next time I need a cake. They also do single slice serves. Thanks Cakes Delight!
