There is no comparison!!!! When I tell you that this spot serves THE BEST Jamaican food I’ve EVER tasted, trust me…it is! I’ve been to Jamaican restaurants in New Orleans, Houston, Austin, Brooklyn, Long Island and a few more. None of the restaurants I have visited can come close to the quality and taste of the food at Calabash Caribbean Grill.I traveled from Houston to South Carolina to witness my brilliant niece graduate from the Army Military School. Today we decided to patron this restaurant and when we arrived we sat at the drive through window for about 10 minutes until we tapped on the window and finally a lady vibes up with an attitude. We finally get out good and it's handed to us with grease and oil spilled all down the side of the plate and bag and instead of the attitude girl cleaning up the mess she proceeded to hand this filthy bag through the window and asks us do we want another bag! Customer Service matters and this business is definitely lacking in this department. We also paid for mac and cheese which is extra and it wasn't a good proportion compared to the rest of the plate. DO BETTER!

I’ve been searching for authentic tasting Jamaican food ever since Mama J’s closed down. This is the place to go if your looking for authenticity. Those other restaurants that I’ve tried in Columbia have nothing on Calabash Caribbean Grill. I grew up eating authentic Jamaican food from friends houses and this is the real deal! I spent about $60 on Friday and it was well worth it.Curry Chicken, Jerk Chicken, Stew Chicken along with the big spice bun, coco bread and mac and cheese. All come with rice and peas, plantain and cabbage.

Take it from me..I’ve lived in Columbia for 6yrs now (from the Caribbean) and have tried almost all the Caribbean restaurants around…definitely the most authentic I’ve tasted. Seasoned to perfection and not salty like some other places I’ve tried (hint hint…the one on broad river rd). Don't judge it until you've experienced it! We passed by this restaurant and were uncertain about it, but once we stepped inside, we enjoyed an incredible meal. The server was very helpful in recommending dishes. If we return to the area, we will definitely make a stop here again.

This restaurant was fantastic! The staff was incredibly friendly, and the food was amazing. The portion sizes were also generous. I highly recommend it – it reminded me of my grandma's cooking!
