Our group eats at a different breakfast spot every week, so we have sampled MANY of the local diners. The Calico Cafe is not exactly for us “local” but we consider it “BEST within a reasonable drive time”! This little place has everything you would want and more than you expect. I'm sitting here now eating our final meal before we head back to Tx and Ca. This is the only place that I've seen that serves double yolk eggs. Side note, as an Olds guy, it was neat hearing the story about the 69 442 toy on the shelf. Food was fresh and hot, service was excellent, the place was small and the people super friendly. Excellent food and service!!! Loved that it was a nicer honey feel. Met the owner and she was very personable. They served a lot a food for not a lot of price. The omelettes were delicious!!! And the grits were great. The biscuits and gravy were to die for!!! Almost couldn't eat it all!!! I highly recommend stopping in. You will not be disappointed!!!
A cozy small town diner. The cooks and wait staff are friendly and good at their jobs. Everything that I have eaten there has been cooked well and served at the proper temp. My favorite dish is their homemade biscuits and sausage gravy with eggs on top… I have to go their occasionally just to have it.

Great consistent out of the way Mom Pop small town diner w/counter service tables, very reasonable, great service.
Charming little restaurant with delicious food, though the wait staff could have been a bit more welcoming.
Smoking is allowed and that ruined it for us. We'll never go back. Very unpleasant.
