California Fish Grill

I'm not a very big fan of fish, but I have really enjoyed the food here. On my first visit, I had the crispy fish sandwich. It is a very crispy, large, well-seasoned piece of fish. The ingredients are incredibly fresh, and their dynamite sauce is very tasty. I also had the fire roasted street corn on the side. The corn is very good, though I would have preferred cotija rather than the parmesan cheese. I am a huge fan of the fried fish here. Excellent fish! Nice sauces or seasonings. Choice of sides? Yuck! Bad enough I started looking around for better places that offer fish with decent sides. I dont order fried sides. The squash is too buttery, tastes okay but rough if your system cant handle that butter overload. Asparagus undercooked. Beans gross . I thought ordering salad with fish could work, but quantity varies without price change.: You can count on not getting all the spices or sauces ordered. I ordered from here many times knowing order is usually wrong for condiments. If you are open to eating in, their place is very cute! The garlic/cajun sauce is fabulous and the salmon cooked wonderfully--tasty. They make a great cauliflower rice, which is ideal if youre limiting carbs. They also make a nice, charred brussel sprouts side. I know someone said they received a batch that was inedible, but mine were flavorful. I just wish that the sides were a bit more in size. I also like how they package their meals for delivery. I will continue to order from them. If you need to see the calories/nutritional info, go the their sites menu. I was very surprised by the carbs/calories for the brussel sprouts, but the cauliflower rice was reasonable, in general.

There's nothing specifically wrong with California Fish Grill, but there's nothing amazing about it either. All of our fishes were slightly overcooked. Still definitely edible, but not the way it should have been prepared. My mahi-mahi was inconsistent. Some bites were pretty good. Others barely tolerable. Service is a mixed bag. The staff ignored a lady who was waiting to order for at least 5 minutes. Our food wasn't actually ready for us when they texted us to pick it up. Prices are reasonable. The patio outside was nice. Usually I give 5 stars here, in spite of their awful choices for sides to my liking. The salmon and swai are well priced. A few months ago, I found out I could get full sized portions of salmon and swai, but order it under the salad category. That worked until tonight. Tonight I got tiny kid-size portions of both salmon and swai, the fish was cold, and missing tartar sauce and cilantro. Caviar credited back the meal. I dont know if I got less than half size portions because I used a Caviar promo????

Great selection of food, plenty of indoor and outdoor seating, though a bit of table shuffle is needed for any party of 5 or more.

I go here often for their grilled Salmon and Sway fish combo. I also like their grilled zucchini and brussels sports.
