We are just back from what we hoped would be a nice meal with family and have to say that there was nothing even approaching acceptable about this place. We waited an hour for meals that started to come out of the kitchen one at a time and with five meals it took at least 20 minutes from the first meal to the last. The sixth meal never did show up until the waitress came and asked me if I even ordered anything. 4 of the meals were cold, the salad served with the fish cakes was simple shredded lettuce and croutons, no dressing. The cook, using the term loosely, wore flip flops and a t-shirt that had seen better days. I would question the health standards for sure.
Unfortunately that’s all I can say that is positive. I had to go to the bar myself to get a second beer after waiting for the server who was nowhere to be seen after 15 minutes. Our frozen onion rings/chicken/fries were cold and mushy by the time we got our meals but our server didn’t bother to come back around to see how our meals were and only asked when we finally flagged her down to try and pay our bill and get out. In this small town this restaurant could be great given its location and atmosphere but the service and food is sub par unfortunately.
Slow service, employees on their cell phones. Not impressed with their menu (lobster carnival) small selection and dishes coming out didn 't look too appetizing we decided to drink our beers and find somewhere else to have supper... when we told the waitress that we would only have our beers, she replied that 'the kitchen is 'backed-up ' so it 's a good thing you 're not eating here ' ... who would say something like that ???? If you 're looking to drink this seems to be the place.... but I wouldn 't eat here.
From the outside this place seems like a really trendy and cool spot. We stopped for late lunch on festival weekend and should have took the hint when the place was near empty. Service was super slow and the whole place seemed very unorganized. We ordered a burger/fries and lobster poutine. The burger was not real hot and I struggled to find the lobster in a very small portion of lobster poutine. Friendly atmosphere, good variety on menu, good variety in bar items. Had the open face hot chicken sandwich was great. Had my 2 year old grandson with us, had colouring page and crayons for him to keep him busy and appreciated that they brought his grilled cheese sandwich before our meals. We sat on the patio in the back with a great view of the waterfront. Later 2 of us went into the main part and had a few drinks, great service considering they were packed as a band Signal Hill from Nfld was playing
Popped in for lunch after 2 so after the lunch rush. There were about 25 people in the place half of them had their food already. The waitress brought us our drinks in a reasonable amount of time but when we ordered our food a one piece fish and chips and a lobster roll. She said at least 30 minutes. This kind of cramp is why restaurants don't last. WAKE UP people you are in a tourist town and you have 5 to 6 months to make your money. How are you planning to get through Lobster Carnival?
Really slow service for no reason. Not many customers in restaurant. Had to ask for silverware when mussels were taken to the table. Waitress asked how were the clams? We had mussels. LOBSTER POUTINE WAS NOT GOOD. Will not go back again. A real attitude by owners as others were complaining also. Felt bad for some waitresses that were trying but not able to improve on the bad experience by customers.
We go to Fat Tony's Bar and Grill occasionally on Saturday night for the steak special. you get a 10 oz strip loin cooked the way you like it with choice of potato and mushroom and onions included in the price of 17.95. I got mashed potatoes with gravy and the gravy was to die for. It was very filling and no room for dessert. We totally enjoyed it.The service was excellent. Reserva una mesa ahora
I've been reading some reviews of Fat Tonys bar and came across one from a Sandy H who gave Tony's a very bad review! I wonder how many times he has eaten at this place as we frequently eat there and truly have never had a bad experience, always good food,great portions,friendly staff and very clean attractive atmosphere!
