Our second time dining at Cantarinha do Guadiana (the last time was in 2022) and had to leave another review to attest to the consistency in preparation of amazing dishes. This time we enjoyed the skewered tamboril with shrimp, which was incredible. Meaty chunks of tamboril (monkfish) were sandwiched between generous portions of grilled onion and pepper. The shrimp were served to the side, along with 2 potatoes. The second dish was arroz with razor clams. The flavors were incredible, just as we remembered. Both main dishes were incredible. We came here out first night in VRSA and the food was amazing! Our starter was a mushroom/ chouriço dish, which set our course for a wonderful dining experience. The main dishes were incredible. We had the arroz de lingueirão, which was brought to the table still boiling hot. My partner is a fan of razor clams and couldn't stop talking about this dish days later. I enjoyed the papas de milhos, a super comforting shrimp and corn meal dish. Both were out of this world. We were extremely satisfied with our meals so unfortunately dessert didn't make the cut. Staff were pleasant and interactive, overall I would highly recommend a meal here.
Desde que abriu, sou cliente deste restaurante e não é só no verão. Começando na simpatia no atendimento e realçando a qualidade do que nos é apresentado, aconselho a todos a visitar. São diariamente fornecidos por excelentes fornecedores com produtos frescos e de qualidade.A quem visita este estabelecimento numa época alta, se não tem paciência pois então tem solução, em casa despacham se mais depressa e não metem defeitos. Enalteço as migas com carne de porco preto, javali no barro e não sou apreciadora mas é top), polvo a cantarinha … enfim quando quero ser bem servida, é o meu restaurante de eleição.
stopped by for lunch during a day trip to vila real de santo antonio. we went during off season so it wasn’t very busy and were the only table sitting outside. felt like an authentic portuguese restaurant experience. server was not particularly warm but not offensive either. the food was good but not amazing the clam rice was delicious but found the rice to be a bit hard for my liking. probably wouldn’t go out of my way to return to this restaurant. The food and wine at Cantarinha do Guadiana are excellent. We particularly like the Monkfish Rice with Prawns. The wine list is extensive. The service is professional, attentive but not bothersome. On a Sunday evening in October after a very stormy afternoon, the restaurant filled up but was quiet and relaxed.
