The Schnitzel menu is incredible. So many choices! Ordered seafood schnitzel and haloumi salad. Meals took a long time to come out. We waited at least 30 minutes. Schnitzel was huge and very tasty. Top ingredients. Only thing was - my husband was unsure if Chicken or pork. It was not asked what he would like when ordering...bit strange? We guessed it was chicken. My salad was ok. It comprised of leaves and shredded raw veggies in a creamy sauce and then on top of that haloumi with cauliflower and zucchini with a tangy mustard dressing. It was a strange combination, as if it were 2 salads on top of each other, and I wasn't a huge fan of the mustard dressing on the haloumi and honestly believe...
Capalaba Tavern is my second home. It has the usual things a pub has like tab, keno, pokies, pool tables, darts. It's good to watch sporting events also at the sports/public bar. The House of Schnitzel is the restaurant with in the Tavern which is very family friendly with a huge playground inside the Tavern. If your a couple without kids or dislike kids due to parents letting thier kids go wild i advise go elsewhere as there can be loud annoying kids running around. It does get busy most nights so book a table ahead. The restaurant can get noisy. And on wednesdays they have trivia which is annoying if you want to have a relaxed quiet meal. Its more for parents and big groups and birthdays....
Went here Thursday night for dinner and a beer. We both ordered ribs and the service was pretty ordinary the lady serving us to be fair seemed to be new but still took her 10mins to complete the payment process of the order. Management obviously did not train her very well,however, very polite and helpful lady. Going into the main eating area to order a beer took just as long with staff who have been there long enough to know how to pour a beer in a timely manner not another 10 minutes. These times are understandable when busy but this was not the case. The Ribs we ordered was very nice so compliments to the chef. If i was to come back it wouldn't be for the service.
The first time we visited the "House of Schnitzel" at Capalaba Tavern it was terrible.This was the second time and, once again, it was for a family celebration.Once again, the service was terrible, its doesn't take over an hour to cook a schnitzel, and the food was just awful.If there are any more family celebrations there, we will not be attending and will make other arrangements.Check with Tripadvisor to find other eating places in Capalaba, QLD. I have always loved the schnitzels here so me and my partner decided to come for lunch. We were greeted by a rude manager like lady and I was asked for id even though I only asked for a table for two! She continued to be rude even when ordering our meals and walked around like she had a problem with everything. The bar staff were much more friendly and our meals were great. Was just a shame this one lady put the mood down.
We stood in line for 50min. One off being served, to be told once you order you then have to wait another 45min for your meal. This was our first visit to the Capalaba Tavern House of Schnitzel. Absolutely disgusting service. One person on the bar, one person taking food orders at approx 7pm at night. I am a very patient person and do not complain, let along walk out. But this was a joke.
I needed somewhere to take my SO for his 40th birthday last minute and Capalaba Tavern came through for me. They accepted a Facebook booking and did up the table with balloons. The food was divine and the atmosphere was nice and relaxed. We were able to chat and relax over a great meal. Will go back again!
