Unnecessary attitude from a female staff member... Stayed at the Away Resort, The Bay, Colwell. Walked through an unlocked gate to the beach with my wife and beach accessories. On the way back the gate was locked. So I had to walk all the way around through a nasty footpath covered in nettles. Got my car to help my wife, reversed up a small section of grass only to be confronted by the said staff member telling me that no cars were allowed even though there are no signs displayed stating that... Very unwelcoming... Others had difficulty too including a woman and small child. The staff are more concerned about a **** piece of land than helping in the hot weather... We stumbled upon this hidden gem by accident. The staff were extremely friendly, the food was freshly made and the portions were generous. We tried the ploughman's lunch and it was absolutely delicious. The menu had a great variety of options at affordable prices. The setting was clean and lovely, perfect for relaxing and taking in the beautiful scenery. We will definitely be returning on our next trip to the island.

This seaside café has a fantastic location. The staff are very friendly and they welcome dogs, which is a plus. We enjoyed a couple of coffees, a sausage roll, and a slice of coffee cake. The coffee was warm but not hot, and the sausage roll was soggy and not very tasty. The coffee cake was oddly cold and wrapped in cling film, and lacked flavor. It's disappointing because we had high hopes when we first arrived.

I ordered cod goujons thinking they would be small pieces of fish, but there were 4 large pieces that were the size of a jumbo fish finger. It was great value for money, but I could only eat 2 of them. There were enough chips for 2 people as well, so maybe I should choose a child's portion next time. There was a queue out the door at nine in the morning! But got served very quickly by the ever smiling ladies. My food came very quickly and was tasty. Excellent spot at any time of the day. Spotless clean . Main area has wheelchair access. Toilet and carpark within a few yards. Highly recommended.

Busy on a Wednesday morning with locals. Great food, lovely staff, wonderful location. We are staying at The Bay Colwell so this is the nearest to us and so glad we found it! Will be back tomorrow.
