Today is Dec. 2, 2016. It has been well over three years since we last came here for a meal. They had advertised a special breakfast consisting of two eggs, peameal back bacon, potatoes, toast and coffee for $5.25 which I believe is the cheapest full breakfast you will find in this entire area. Our breakfasts were basically alright except for the potatoes which were the nugget prefrozen type and were very over cooked so that they were crunchy. Everything else was okay and the bacon is a special treat where other places charge extra for that and for coffee or tea. Some friends who live in the area said that they believed the place has had new owners. We were the only patrons there as they wer...
Order pizzas for my family. The kids pizza had hot peppers all over it....not what I ordered so as soon as we opened the box I called. The lady was nice as she confirmed that the order was incorrect and she apologized for the mistake. She then tells me I can come in a get a full refund for the pizza because it was their fault. I was happy. Pizza went into the garbage and I made the kids something else. Went in today to pick up my money and they can't find the info. Then she claims she can only give me a gift certificate. Left my name and number for the owner to call me and he does. What an ignorant man with absolutely no people skills. Hangs up on me. Moral of this story.....this restaurant...
If you love roaster chicken with wedged fries this is the place to enjoy a great meal, excellent service and reasonable prices. Wheatley Ontario is known as the "FRESH WATER FISHING CAPITAL IN CANADA" and the fish offered at The Car Barn lives up to Wheatley's name. You have to try their food.
Have to admit that we've only had breakfasts here, but they're good. We have been visiting this area every May since 1984, taking in the spring bird migration at nearby Point Pelee National Park. Breakfasts at The Car Barn have become a tradition, and long may it reign!
