I wanted to book a relaxed setting for a long family lunch where young children weren’t too restrained. This was ideal as the setting is informal and the tables well separated. There’s also an outside area if the kids need to stretch their legs. The food was good, pretty much what you’d expect for wood fired pizza/Italian. The menu isn’t extensive, but certainly adequate. There was something for everyone. Service was great. I’d definitely go their again. It’s quirky, rustic and inviting. My only suggestion would be to clean up or screen off all the equipment stored in the paddock as you approach the winery as it looks very messy and uninviting. Also please include a smoked salmon or seafood...
Booked in for a Sunday Lunch, because was advised there was a singer for lunch! For a start the car park is a nightmare! unless you are an experienced and attitudinal driver you will be forced to park on the street. Since we booked we were able to sit down immediately as it was very packed. But music was too loud!!! and it was mimed!!! Wait staff were attentive. Kitchen brigade worked well and were on the go all the time. Pizza was excellent: blistered crust and sensational salami- hot!!! Wine was mediocre. Paying the bill was a disaster. No one to accept the money. When she did arrive, the pushy ones were in front of the que. A better system needs to be devised. Regulars think this is THEIR...
We had Sunday lunch at this great place and absolutley loved it. We opted for the $42.00 per head menu and were treated to meats, cheese, dips and polenta chips. A little bread woulf have been nice with the cold meats but it was all delicious. Then the pizzas kept coming until we were all bursting at the seams. There was a musician playing a variety of songs and even got people up dancing. We sat on the Rose all day and at $39.00 a bottle it went down very well. The staff and owners were attentive and I can honetly say we all throughly enjoyed our day. I would highly recommend this place for the unique experience of sitting in the cellar amongest the wine barrels and enjoying good food.
The place doesn’t look much when you drive up, but this huge rustic barn of a restaurant, complete with wine barrels, has a good feel to it. Ideal for a casual family meal. The pizzas are traditional, nicely charred and crispy with good quality toppings. The three we tried (Prosciutto, mushroom and pork sausage) were really good. Wines include two interesting red blends Tre Amici and Tre Rossi in the European style. Went down very well with the food. This was our first visit to Carlei but it wont be our last. Food,wine and entertainment made this a great day. The traditional pizzas are generous. We had the selections of starters and selection of pizzas. Great! Try a wine tasting before your lunch so you can choose the wine with your food.
This restaurant is a fantastic spot to have a relaxing Saturday lunch with friends. The rustic atmosphere is stunning, surrounded by vineyards. The service, food, and wine are all exceptional. The Tiramisu is the best we've ever had – we can't wait to come back! Thank you to everyone.
We recently held my daughter's wedding at this venue. The location is amazing, the service was excellent with very friendly and helpful staff. They were accommodating and attentive both on the day of the wedding and leading up to it. The food was also delicious and very satisfying.
