If I could give this restaurant more stars, I absolutely would! The chips are freshly fried, crispy, and just the right thickness. The salsa is incredible, and the guacamole is equally amazing—I devoured them before I even thought about taking pictures, so my apologies for that! I ordered the birria tacos, and they were absolutely delicious. The accompanying dipping soup? Let me just say... heavenly sigh! Absolutely delicious. I ordered the barbacoa plate, and was not disappointed. I'm very particular about how food is cooked, and the meat I will admit was slightly overdone, but not in a way that would keep you from enjoying the thorough absorption of the well balanced infused flavors. Fresh ingredients meant further addition to the overall enjoyment of the plate. Refried beans were more liquid than my liking, but again the flavoring was spot on. Rice was tender and well seasoned. To top it off, we had a flan, which was incredible!!! Sugar syrup was caramelized perfectly, and the consistency was amazing. Definitely a great find!

We came here to celebrate my son's birthday as a recommendation from a friend for the most authentic Mexican food in town. Let me tell you it did not disappoint! Even though we arrived on a busy evening at probably the worst time, they seated us rather quickly and got us started with chips and pico. All our food was fantastic. The staff was friendly and efficient. Inside the restaurant was a bit loud for my taste, but I think next time we'll come at a slower time and request outdoor seating (which looked lovely).

We came back this week to confirm that our first visit wasn't just a fluke. This place is fantastic—great food, drinks, and service. We both had the wet tacos with verde sauce, and the spice level was spot on. The skinny margaritas, made with freshly squeezed citrus, are exceptional. This is likely the best Mexican food on the East Coast. While it may not quite match what you find in California, it's definitely very close. The salsa here is utterly addictive, and the margaritas are excellent. It's a small, cozy spot with a welcoming atmosphere. Carmen and Juan are really wonderful hosts. Be sure to try a margarita while you're here—you won't regret it!

The food at this restaurant is incredible. It's a unique take on Mexican cuisine, but everything is so fresh and flavorful. The chips and salsa are homemade and absolutely delicious. I tried the Sergio Burrito with chicken instead of the steak that it typically comes with, and it was fantastic. I highly recommend this place!

We truly adore this restaurant and have been visiting for years. The prices are reasonable, the service is consistently excellent, and it has a warm, family-friendly atmosphere. We enjoy the food immensely and recommend Carmen Y Juan's to everyone who comes to North Mount Pleasant.

Several people in our group mentioned that the meat was overly salty and they generally did not enjoy the taste. Additionally, the rice was bland and lacked flavor.
