Carnival Ice Cream

I was in Fishkill for a doctor's appointment and it was a hot day so I was looking for a small ice cream place. I was sitting in the CVS parking lot and trying to look on my phone and it kept telling me I was already there. Which I thought was very funny. So I drove around to the back of the plaza to see what stores were open and all the way in the back was this Carnival ice cream shop. The owner was there. He was a very personable older gentleman .He said he makes 3/4 of the ice cream himself. The other ice cream comes from Perry's which is also a good brand. I was searching for Carvel and somehow this came up and I didn't realize it wasn't Carvel until after I purchased a icecream cake. I had called to order it and said I needed an icecream cake with NO Chocolate and asked if they could put vanilla crunchies in it and they said no problem. I also repeated myself saying it was important that it had no chocolate. When we went to pick it up I asked again and was told there was no chocolate but they put chocolate crunchies in the cake and I asked why and he said it was vanilla icecream only and they didn't put chocolate. My nephew and I are hooked on this place! It has such a warm and inviting atmosphere, and the owner is truly a joy. His smile always brightens my day. There are so many flavors to select from, and they also offer a variety of convenient pre-made options to take away.
