After my cousin and her fiance got married at the chapel in the county building, 11 of us headed to Carrabas for dinner. Although reservations were not accepted, the restaurant was informed of our arrival in advance. We were promptly seated in a spacious area. How many times have you visited a restaurant with a small group only to encounter numerous issues? Well, this was not the case for us. My wife and I visited Carrabba's Italian Grill last Friday at 1811 Tamiami Trl, Port Charlotte, located in the Village Marketplace near Books-a-Million. The restaurant was not very crowded when we arrived, with spacious parking and easy access. We were quickly seated and our server, Tia, took our drink order and provided us with menus. We opted for the Classic Combination as an appetizer, followed by my wife ordering The Caesar Salad with grilled chicken and me choosing a side Italian salad. I am only giving this restaurant a 2-star rating because our server was very nice and apologetic for the mishaps. However, the food did not come out right and we had to send it back. The utensils were dirty with crusty food on them. I also observed a server/associate preparing utensils in napkins without gloves and handling her phone back and forth. The walls looked dirty with old residue and dust on the edges of the booths, giving the restaurant an overall unclean appearance. Although the food did taste good, the lack of food safety measures really ruined the dining experience for us.

Should it take 45 minutes to get a wine and an appetizer? Well it did today. Bless their hearts , I hope they have a surly hostess of the week award. Cause there are some contenders. Food is consistent so I went there today when there were power outages at other restaurants in the vicinity. So I'm guessing that could have been the problem. Normally great food, we order thru door dash. Tonight the chef forgot to cook the bow tie pasta enough for our meal of fettuccini weesie.. felt like eating chalky pasta , not soft at all . Recommendation please don't rush the pasta.. you were doing great until tonight! Stay focused!

We have been to Carrabas at Tiger locations, and it's been on, but here, it's been a pleasant surprise. We sat at the bar the first time we came, and the bartender was great and very attentive to us. The food and drinks were great. Since then, we have continued to come back.

This is the best Carrabbas location. The food is extremely good. I enjoyed their chicken soup and the steak, which was seasoned and cooked to perfection.
