The renowned Ginory of old appears to have been taken over by another restaurant on the same site called Charco Viva, which also occupies the building next door. The frontage still says Antigua Bar Ginory, and I asked the waitress if this was Bar Ginory, and she said it was, but I wonder I think the old one 's gone. We went because the guidebook and Tourist Info both recommended Ginory, but I wish we hadn 't. It was very busy and therefore had awful service, and the view was dreadful, compared to the lovely lagoon side restaurants round the corner. One of our dishes did, admittedly, include some very good fish, but that was served with indifferent calamari and hard Canarian potatoes. The other dish was an escalope with chips of the OK ish variety served in a Britalian restaurant in London and I don 't come to Lanzarote to eat fake Italian food. It was inexpensive, but not worth bothering with in a place that has so many lovely restaurants in it.
