We had dinner at Casa Juana last night and loved everything about it. Beautiful table with a view over the bay. Since it's a little off the beaten path (just up the hill from the Plaza), the guests seem to be mostly locals. I don't think they have a menu in English or German but I'm not sure. Very friendly wait staff. The food was delicious. The fare is mainly Canarian but with some added twist. Lots of tapas on the menu. I had white asparagus over thin salmon filets with a cream cheese sauce and a tomato and avocado salad. My dad ate a chick pea stew with meat. We got a blackberry liquor on the house after dinner which was also very tasty. We will definitely go back.

Beautifully setting just above the market square overlooking the sea. Friendly and welcoming, but we didn’t stay. To make clear the food looked great a wide range of fresh seafood cooked to order making the diners who were there very happy. Why didn’t we stay? My fault not theirs, my wife likes seafood, but I don’t and there wasn’t a non fishy option. Would have been happy with the simplest of alternatives ... even a specialist seafood restaurant should be able to whip up a vegetarian meal even if they couldn’t do something meat based, but alas it will remain a place where we had a nice drink before having to move on.

We called at this restaurant and realised they didn’t have a menu in English. The waitress had very little English, but it was better than our Spanish! I simply said, “bring us something nice, but please no squid”. The resultant meal was a perfect selection of tapas which was very tasty and varied. The restaurant is a little off the beaten track, and clearly a hit with the locals, which I consider to be a good review in itself.
