Casa Oaxaca - Reserva de mesa

I visited this restaurant based on a recommendation, but unfortunately, it didn’t meet my expectations. When we arrived, we were asked if we wanted chips and salsa, to which we agreed. Instead, they brought us chips and guacamole and charged us $8—this was the first time I’ve ever had to pay for chips. We’re from Tucson, AZ, where you can find excellent Mexican food, so I was disappointed. After placing our order, we were informed just five minutes later that they didn't have the necessary ingredients for our dishes. We decided to leave and I don’t plan to return. Save your money and go somewhere else.

The food was quite good, but the service was exceptional—such friendly staff! The coffee flan for $5 was out of this world. I can't stop dreaming about it. It's incredibly dense and creamy, topped with the perfect dollop of whipped cream and a sprig of mint. This dessert is everything I’ve ever wanted; it could benefit from a stronger coffee flavor, but it's absolutely delicious on its own!

Have ordered take out a number of times; this time decided to eat in. Enjoyed my (huge) wet Verde chicken burrito. Others liked the mole negro. Margaritas were fine. Service was fast and responsive during a busy Saturday night. Service: Dine in Meal type: Dinner
