We like too have a restaurant in town to celebrate special occasions. This time it was my husbands birthday. Just the two of us to make it more romantic, Unfortunately there was a rather large party in the main dining room with somewhat unruly kids that shouted and screamed a lot. They can't help it - they are kids but it makes you wonder about the parents.Although the noise made us jump a little the atmosphere was the same as it always is. Casabella is located on the Thames river in Chatham. The front part is an older house and the back part is a newer addition (this is the part with the river views). Naturally most people would want a river view although there is lots of seating in the older part of the restaurant. We were fortunate enough to get a river view. Service was very good even though the table cloth could have been cleaner and there was a chip in one of our glasses. Salads were very good with fresh ingredients although the variety of ingredients in the house salad were minimal. One entrée we had was the beef medallions. This restaurant over looks the Thames River. It is situated in an old home with a lovely atmosphere. Our waitress was very friendly and helpful. We ordered coconut grouper. Our homemade bread, fresh salad with homemade raspberry dressing and delicious grouper was presented beautifully with a sprig of lavender on the plate. The other dishes coming from the kitchen looked just as beautiful and delicious. We thoroughly enjoyed our dinner and definitely we be back soon..
We have visited this restaurant frequently in the past, but decided not to this time. We were unable to make a reservation for 7 people, so we settled for a 5:00 reservation instead. Unfortunately, we felt rushed to finish our meal once we arrived. We ordered a bottle of wine and were pressured to finish it quickly so that we could leave. Celebrated our son’s 30th birthday on their beautiful patio at sunset. The view of the Thames was gorgeous, beautiful twinkling lights in the trees, lovely little water feature surrounded by beautiful pussywillows, such a romantic feel. Service was outstanding, friendly and attentive. Food was absolutely...delicious! Overall an amazing experience! Thank you for making our evening perfect!
Always have a great meal and experience at Casabella. When I make reservations, I ask for Eggplant Parmesan, if they don't have Eggplant on hand, they'll message the Chef and get him to pick some up.Their homemade Raspberry Vinaigrette Salad Dressing is the best! My go to Restaurant for sure!
Ask for the table beside the fireplace in the winter. Sit outside and talk to the ducks in the summer. Daily specials are always great. We love the seafood enchilada, a bit of spice but a huge portion that is challenging to finish. Staff are top notch, polite knowledgable and friendly.
