Castleton Tea Rooms

While staying in Castleton on a Bank Holiday Monday, we decided to grab lunch at this restaurant. The interior was set up with proper distancing measures for COVID-19, and although the staff weren't wearing face masks, they seemed to be following safety protocols by wiping down menus. The food was delicious, all homemade with a good variety to cater to different tastes. The portions were generous and reasonably priced. The cakes were especially fantastic. The only minor issue was that the staff could have been a bit more attentive. Staying locally we called here for morning coffee. I have to say the welcome was non existent. I gather it is new owners and I do hope it is successful for them but maybe some customer service training for the staff may help. As the...menu looked really good we decided to call back later in the day for a late lunch after our trip to Saltburn. Again the welcome was non existent, the order was taken without a smile. My partner and I were delighted to discover that the old tea chapelroom was open and we had a pleasant lunch on Mother's Day Sunday. The tea room appeared to be run by three young individuals. We were warmly welcomed and seated promptly. The service was extremely quick and very professional. Our meals were delicious and well-prepared. I recommend this tea room, you won't be disappointed. Thank you.

Went for a family day out with my husband and sister had a lovely visit at the old chapel tearooms.The friendly staff made us feel welcome from the start great improvement since we last visited! Like many others, stumbled upon this liitle place on the way south. Have to say the place was beautifully clean and the food and service were first class. Highly recommended for lunch or snacks.
