My fiancé and I are traveling and staying nearby. We were working at the fairground in Waterloo. Found this place on the way home and it was late on a Monday. The bartender Tim was accommodating to let us come in for a drink. Friendly, welcoming and invited us to come back for daily specials in the following week since we will have to work late nights. We definitely will!! The food looks amazing and fellow bar goers supported his claim of how great the food is. Service was great! :
5 Star tavern food!! Complete with authentic old school tavern decor! Love, love, love this place! We often come here for the FISH which is the best in town! Always piping hot and crispy! The cornmeal batter is my favorite ...accompanied by the dill or jalapeño tartar sauce! Exotic!! The staff is friendly and attentive! Unpretentious, down-home, delicious tavern food! Get it with a cold Stag! The local favorite beer! Chicken is also great on chicken nights!
I had the single cheeseburger with lettuce, tomato, onion, and pickles. The beef was seasoned exceptionally well! Unfortunately, the other components didn’t quite match up. The toppings were fresh, but there was a bit too much onion for my liking. It’s a cool place, and I can tell they serve some delicious food!
*5 stars for a great, relaxed bar* Cheap beer, good food and comfortable place to relax. Lots of nice people here and we LOVE the staff. This is definitely a home away from home bar for us. Fantastic prices and even better food! Our server, who has been with the restaurant for 29 years, shared that the current owner is the fourth generation to run the family business. She is doing an excellent job. Overall, I would rate the food a 5, the service a 5, and the atmosphere a 4.
Cozy local tavern with delicious food. I have fond memories of visiting here with my dad when I was younger. This establishment has been around for a long time. I particularly enjoy the fried chicken on Sundays, and I recently ordered a cod plate to go. See the attached picture!
The service was fantastic, but the food was just average. You can tell that the place had a lot of charm a couple of decades ago. It’s the kind of restaurant that your parents would probably enjoy if you brought them.

A hidden gem! I think it's the oldest restaurant in Belleville. I absolutely love the burgers! Price per person: $10–20 Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5.
