A friend and I found ourselves in downtown Mount Vernon looking for somewhere to have dinner because the place we had planned to go had closed for the day. We could see a number of options, and then got our phones out to check the Google reviews. We were standing right in front of La Catrina, and even though it looked like a bit of a hole in the wall, it got pretty good reviews. It wasn 't too bad once you got inside, though the lack of atmosphere took it down a star. Since we are both from Arizona, we 're pretty familiar with Mexican food, and weren 't expecting a lot. We were pleasantly surprised. We each got a couple of the street tacos, carne asada and carnitas for me and bean and veggie...
First visit to Tacos and Tequila. It was a beautiful day, so the front wall, which appears to be a garage door, was fully open, letting the fresh air in. Loved that! Music was playing, akin to a nightclub, but at a more reasonable volume. Our waitress was attentive, kind and helpful. The bartender was great at his job… and easy on the eyes! We got tacos and they were fantastic!!! Bought many more to take home. Chips and fresh pico were also delicious. Looking forward to going back again.
Best Taco Tuesday in town! Drinks are really good and their tacos are delish! The atmosphere is fun and the staff is great! And now they’re expanding which is great because the place is always packed… which is a great sign!
The place was very organized and the food tasted awesome. The thing that I did find uncomfortable was that on the way to the bathroom there were slurs written on the carton hung up around the building.

one of the valleys is for large Mexican food! Not only are the menu points amazing, nereida and the personal makes everyone feel like family. I love this place! = d
