Catskill Animal Sanctuary

Ever since visiting the Catskill Animal Sanctuary for the first time in 2011, we were hooked. It’s very much a sanctuary for its visitors as it is for our animal friends living there. It’s peaceful and beautiful. Their mission is a great one and easy to want to support. Founder Kathy Stevens is my hero and an angel to be around- so positive and full of energy. We became volunteers and volunteered for years before we moved too far to make the commute. We now visit any chance we can get. My husband and I got married there in 2016, we are members and supporters. Such a great mission to get behind. They are truly in it for the animals and do a great job spreading the vegan word. Their events are super awesome too from the compassionate cuisine classes, camp kindness, shin dig in the summer, gobble and groove, and their NYC based cocktail party Cocktails for Cow Tales.

I love Catskill. The staff is incredibly passionate and knowledgeable, and it is easy to see how much they care about the animals they have in the sanctuary. They promote a vegan lifestyle, but are not rude or pressing about if you are not vegan. All animals were so sweet, and I loved learning about their background stories. Worth visiting.

I went to Catskill Animal Sanctuary last weekend and fell in love with many of the animals (especially Michael, the hugable turkey). The guides are very knowledgeable and compassionate.
