My family and I used to visit the Caulfield Glasshouse every few months and always enjoyed the delicious food. Since they renovated to include a kids play area, we now go there at least once a week. The food is top quality and the service is fast and friendly. Recently, we held all three of our kids' birthdays there and I want to give a big shout out to Trevor (the manager) and Melody. Originally you would order and pay for the food at the same time at the counter. Table service was good and food was good. After a recent renovation, you now order your food from a waiter at the table. The problem is when there are more than 2 people, like a party of 8 - 10 people that we have had on a number of occasions and you have to stand and tell the cashier what you ate from the bill. This seems to take forever and long queues form as various groups try to pay. I recently had my child's birthday party at the Glasshouse and it was absolutely fantastic! I have never written a review before, but I had to commend the venue for exceeding our expectations. The event Manager was wonderful to work with and the staff were attentive to every detail. The setup was beautiful and the afternoon ran smoothly, with all 25 kids' meals arriving at the same time and a delicious buffet for the adults. The food was fresh, flavorful, and so tasty that we had to order more. The kids had a great time in the new playground, which was perfect for all ages. Trevor and Melodie were so helpful. The new function room is great, it seats 70 if you're looking for a venue you should have a look. It was easy to have my party here - pay for meals and drinks as you go, reasonable prices, very good food, menu and play area for little ones, can bring your own birthday cake and they give a table to cut it on and knife plates etc. to serve it. This was a family birthday dinner gathering and while I found the menu a bit underwhelming and slightly overpriced, it is a great place for kids as they have a fantastic games room. The Garlic Pizza starter was the standout dish and a must-try. The website mentions that kids eat free on weekdays, although this was not visibly advertised inside the restaurant so be sure to inquire about this offer. The kids' meal also included ice cream which made it a good deal. Overall, this restaurant is very kid-friendly.

We have our family Christmas party here every year and the food is always great. With an average 40 plus people in the room the staff do a fantastic job getting all the orders now there is table service and putting up with the noise and chaos! This time I had the lamb salad with couscous and my partner had the paella, both well priced, well seasoned and a good size. Well done to the staff coping with us all and consistently delivering good food and service. The new renovations look really good too.

Atmosphere and decor is good but food is not good at all! Ordered the chicken burger which did not specify chipotle mayo, (it was specified on other menu items) and since I'm not a fan, I could not eat it. I swapped my meal with my boyfriend who ordered the chicken schnitzel. This was bland and totally tasteless. Not sure how a pub gets chicken schnitzel wrong, but it had no flavour. Give this place a miss.

With the changes in renovations, the Glasshouse seemed to believe that one's impression will trump service. WRONG. Although the place now looks good, they have killed service by removing the order counter & substituted it with table ordering, which is great if you had the staff. There are not many places whre the food is nice and kids get to play. However the glasshouse ticks both of these boxes. What more would you want.. we come here every few months.
