Ca'Zona is a small restaurant right on the Plaza de Concepción in the Center of San Cristobal de la Laguna. It features two rooms (a large modern one and a small tasca-style one with stools round wine casks) and a small terrace with some 5 to 7 tables. We (two families, 9 PAX) ate there on a busy day in the Christmas Holiday season and the waiters were absolutely charming and efficient. The food (tapas and snacks) was served in no time and was delicious. The small bar-style room is more intimate than the bigger room but the cuisine is the same. On a warm day, enjoy the terrace across from the Concepción church and watch the people go by.

By the time we arrived (around noon) the square was croweded and there was no outside sitting at Ca 'Zona. We decided to go inside, the friendly lady inside noticed that we were actually looking for a table outside and she managed to conjure up a table for two chairs and she did it with a smile. We ordered pulpo with Canary potatoes from the tapas menu (which was nice, yet not outstanding) and arepas these were divine! We reside in south of the island but La Laguna Ca 'Zona and the Casa de las Especias (for super fragrant and fresh spices) are well worth the drive. By the way, ask for the arepas because they aren 't on the English menu.

We decided to go for the menu of the day. For 10,70 Euros we had a choice of an appetizer (we chose the ham and cheese) and main dish (we chose the chicken). It included a beverage and we both had sangria which was excellent. We finished up with cups of hot chocolate and shared a plate of churros. The food was very good and nicely displayed and we thoroughly enjoyed our meal.

Came here for lunch and had the fried mixed fish (whitebait, calamari, fried white fish) which was okay, the ham, which was excellent, and the paella, which was very good. Worth visit.
