Cerveceria Cruz Blanca Sabinillas

So we are sitting in Cruz Blanca, surrounded by Spanish voices, families enjoying a relaxing afternoon. The food is excellent, prices are very reasonable and I wonder why this place is not busier than it should be. I am now convinced that this is a place that visitors to this area can’t find or can’t be bothered trying. I find this quite absurd, this is one of our favourite places to drink and eat, well I suppose some of the best things are kept secret.

As said by others, the location away from the seafront means the clientele are largely Spanish but the menu is still with English. Somewhere where olives and bread on the table are complementary. Good traditional tapas and raciones at very reasonable prices. Enter the bar from Calle Mijas and outdoor tables in a small quiet square are just beyond (but you won’t get a seaview like the one shown in error with this listing).

Los lugareños saben algo bueno seguro. Hace años que la comemos y nos encanta el escenario. La zona de bar está llena de carácter y se puede examinar de cerca toda la gama de tapas disponibles. También hay una zona de estar exterior que en realidad está adyacente a un aparcamiento, pero esto no se resta de la experiencia y disfrute de este lugar ofrece. Buen restaurante familiar y siempre una bienvenida amistosa.

When you are in Spain you don’t expect to enter a bar that is full of atmosphere, but here you do. Off the main road, is this sensational bar, very like the old style ones in the UK. I can’t understand why it isn’t busier but then again we benefit from this. I just hope business is good enough to keep it going.

Been here many times over the past ten years , very friendly staff and a good selection of meals and tapas.
