I almost don't want to tell anyone about this place. Feels like I've found a hidden gem and it is only a few miles from my home. Situated off the main road you wouldn't( even know it was there. We noticed it whilst walking and saw the menu. From the outside it looks like any other restaurant but the food is just amazing. The waiter is the father of the chef so the place is family run but the quality of the food is outstanding. A Michel Roux trained chef, the food is top class and beautifully presented, we have now been back 4 times . The added bonus is that the menu is fixed price at about 35 euros for dinner and the wine is not over priced so although top quality it doesn't end up too heavy...
A tiny gem located off the main tourist road. We dined with our family of four and were treated to excellent service by the two gentleman serving the floor that evening. They were playful and kind to our two kids throughout the meal. Excellent and diverse menu options either for the two set menus or for the al a carte options. We sampled penne with truffles, smoked duck breast, foie gras terrine, seafood tartare and all were excellent. We also had lobster and scallop risotto which cooked al dente and beautifully flavored. A nice brief list of local wines is also available. The best meal we had in Les Issambres during our holiday. We would return and recommend to others.
This little restaurant is set well back from the road and has wonderful French cuisine. Prices are average for the area but I would recommend this restaurant without any hesitation whatsoever. My wife and I dined in three different restaurants in this area during Easter 2013 and perhaps is enough of a recommendation to say that we ate in Chante Mer on three of our six nights in the area. I can particularly recommend the Coquilles St Jacques starter and alsothe pate de fois gras
This was the third time we have visited this restaurant. It is situated in a small quiet square away from the main road. It was a cool day so we sat inside the restaurant rather than at the outside tables. We were a party of four and for main dish two of us had pork and two cod from the standard lunchtime menu which was not expensive for what we received. The meal and service were excellent from friendly staff and we will certainly be visiting here yet again.

Great french cousine.We had some troubles trying to book a table over the phone, with the non-english speaking man that answered, but finally managed to get a table.The food was very french and very good.Our waiter spoke perfect english and even told some interesting stories.The portions could have been a tad larger, but with nice, big, and really tasty desserts we ended up being very, very happy with the place.I can definately reccomend Chante Mer!
Fantastic family meal on terrace on a warm August evening. Attentive, friendly service. Carefully prepared, beautifully presented food - tasty fresh local ingredients. Excellent wine list of locally produced wines. Highly recommended for an authentic traditional French meal in a charming spot just off the beaten track.
What to say, we went for our wedding anniversary dinner. The ambience, service, food were all delightful. Front of house and service is the father, who used to do the cooking but the chef is now the son, who did 5 years with Michel Roux of La Gavroche in London. Added to our list off favorites.
This was our second visit and we were not disappointed. The 40 euro set menu was top quality food. The service was excellent. Overall the whole experience was fantastic. I highly recommend a visit , we will return for dinner next time.

The night was just perfect, great food, a whimsically French waiter giving just the right amount of attention. Perhaps not enough truffle in the truffle beef, but will definitely come again.
A Bijoux - the food is delicious, in particular if you like traditional high french cuisine. Haven't had Crêpes Suzette for ages and it was just awesome. The staff is great as well.
