Heard lots about the place so thought we'd try as Majors across the way are far to greasy, for me anyway. Not much of a Queue as opposed to across the road, service was quick and Staff pleasant. Food Large fish very nice, big medals of cod and crunchy batter, Battered chips hot but not much taste, Small fish a bit dry , Plain chips were not freshly cooked and were only barely warm and tasted as if they had been sitting a while! Would i try again, Hmmmm probably not just go back to the one at the top of the Town to be honest.
I really fancied good old chippy one day,so thought I’d try here bit septical as read some bad posts on f/b,I had fish chips mushy peas,they were lovely,nearly good as the seaside!second time I went mushy peas sausage in batter,I agreed to have them altogether mistake on my part as peas had soak in to much,the batter was soggy,not nice,but as said this is my fault,I have had a takeaway from another Chinese on a tray but curry sauce,soak into much but that’s my preference from now on separate all the way!
The fish and chips and scallops were of poor quality at Chaplins restaurant. We informed the staff and were offered a refund, which we accepted. However, instead of granting us the refund as promised, we were offered more food. We reiterated that we would prefer the refund, as £15.00 was quite expensive for uneaten food. Unfortunately, we have not received any updates or communication from the restaurant since then. This lack of follow-up and customer service is disappointing.
We have lived in Nuneaton for 4yrs. Tried many different Fish Chip shops, with nothing tasting like our good old Essex Fish Chips. But tonight we had some from “CHAPLINS” they were FANTASTIC, TASTY the Batter on the Fish, was Exceptional. Highly recommended you try it

This chip shop has had different management over the last 18mthd, but i can honestly say they have finally got it spot on. The orders we've had over the last 10weeks have been spot on. Pre order for a certain time and you'll get fresh out the fryer. Can't fault it.
I tried Chaplins for the first time and ordered a couple of different items. I can definitely recommend the cod and the chicken donner meat in a tray, along with the chips and curry sauce. Overall, it was a nice fish and chips experience!
I ordered the fish and chips and thoroughly enjoyed my meal, as did my partner. The fish was perfectly flaky and the dish was delivered ahead of schedule.
Had freshly cooked haddock with chips and peas and all were delicious and hot! Very quick delivery via Just Eat will definitely be using again.

Fabulous meal. Ordered cods roe,chips and mushy peas. Cooked to perfection and nicely presented in a box. Really friendly service too.
