we had a fabulous dinner at char. oysters were delicious! filet mignon was tender enough to cut with a fork, cooked to perfection and with the blue cheese and bacon sauce delectable! the add-on of the crab was a great choice, the crab was shroff! cabernet was also perfect! we let them know that we celebrated my birthday and our jubilee. each server made a point to wish us a happy birthday and jubilee, also the young woman who fills our waterglasses. nice touch! and the free flourless chocolate cake, ice cream, whipped cream and champaign was the proverbial guilding of the lilies! we would highly recommend char. can't think of a thing that would have made the evening more fun.
char is always the best. eating is just as impeccable as the service. I bring family, friends and anyone I want to show that rochester has to offer here. I don't appreciate the fact that the warden (who seemed to act as a doorman) barks on my party to a mask on the way in, and went so far to stand all the way to hostess and follow in our faces. I spoke this complaining on the way to the reception and they were very understanding, professional and apologetic. I understand that the restaurant and the hotel are different owners. only one can't believe that our evening had to start. independent 5 stars char! 0 stars maintenance man

The assistant was attentive and good humored. The food never disappoints. I did have a strip steak medium that needed no additional sauce. Swiss chard and mashed potatoes rounded out a very filling meal. Don't try to come without reservations!

I've eaten the best in rustester for a long time. every cure was great! the very fresh tasting west philly sushi roll, the daily fresh pasta selection of the chef (padelle with a delicate braided rabbit ragu the perfectly boiled mid rare wood fire grilled delmonico with a beautiful smokey charcoal supplements by the melted chocolate cheese speck butter and caramelized fluffing to the whole chefs! .will definitely be back.
eating was absolutely excellent. someone in the kitchen knows how to cook salmon perfectly. joe the bartender is exactly the kind of bartender that they would hope for when they travel alone for the business - the most hospitable that I have ever met and not mention the drinks creations are fantastic.

very good food. pricy for rustester. all three steaks were boiled. to chars credit they were replaced by alacrity and courtesy. second row of steaks were delicious.
