Radebeul, the Western suburb of Dresden, is famous for its late century architecture and its vineyards on the steep ridges of the Elbe valley. It is, however, not famous for the food with two exceptions: one is the restaurant at the Schloss Wackerbarth...(which I reviewed some months ago) and one this small gourmet place in a nice old house that you can easily oversee at the Western city limits. The food is regional with some interesting aspects of (post)modern cooking: tasty soups based on horse-raddish or basilicum, unusual dishes such as pork cheecks in a pinot noir sauce, a nice choice of dessert (some excellent and typical, some middle-of-the-road that you can find virtually everywhere)...
