I went to charters with a friend for lunch and an ale, I have never eaten here before but have been here many times for their outside gigs and events, I ordered the Bacon Mature Cheddar Beef patty, caramelised onion, bacon, mature cheddar, mustard mayo, sliced gherkins, tomatoes, lettuce and rocket. it was served in a brioche bun, with rosemary salted chips, and a dip, I didn't want the brioche, i am not a fan of bread, and that was no problem, i was given extra salad, And I must say, it was delicious, the Ale was lovely as usual, the staff were polite and has smiles on their faces during my transaction. Charter's is a barge situated on the edge of Peterborough city centre. Access is down a flight of steps, up a gangplank, onto the barge and then down to the bar. Staff are friendly and helpful, with 8 real ales on handpump and a selection of craft beer and cider. Prices are keen. There are compromises due to it being a barge and the bar has no windows to look out of. On my visit there were 4 Oakham ales and 4 other ales, including one from Nene Valley. Beer was in excellent condition.
Stylish Oakham pub on a boat. The East restaurant (very moderately priced Asian food) can be found on the upper level of this boat, while the pub is to be found in the body of the ship on the lower level. Plenty of cask options available, mostly by Oakham brewery (which shouldn 't come as a surprise considering the place is run by Oakham Ales). Light pub grub available, too. Frequent music events, good crowd, good service.
I think charter is a great bar not really much I can fault about it but I do have to say it’s very poor for when you are there for a festival and there is literally no place to change a baby I had to leave early for this reason you go for a family day there and they should accommodate this I think it’s very poor when they have big events on there should be some place to accommodate this

Brill quirky bar on a barge with vast outdoor seating and stage area. Taken by family for a quick look and drink. Spent a lot meore time there than planned , live music, snacks and local brewed craft beers along with standard fare. Returned for second visit the after and will return again in the future on subsequent visit to family.
I went there in a group of six friends. We started in the downstairs bar. Very good selection of real ales and a good atmosphere. Then we went upstairs for our meal. Food menu was very good, the staff were friendly and attentive. We had an excellent meal. I highly recommend this restaurant. We'll worth another visit.
The staff is a rude and unfriendly. They attack me and they stole my phone and my expensive sunglasses. Do not visit this place you will punched and robbed. They are homophobic as well and they punched homosexuals.
Really impressed with the set up: Great range of beers and lagers. Short walk from town Events throughout the week Outdoor area smart and well laid out. Friendly and mixed vibe Nicely done.

Had to pop in when I saw 500 guest ales available! Great selection, great interior, decently priced and very friendly staff too! What more could you want!
Charters is always a good idea for a brunch! Delicious drinks! If it's busy,sometimes need to wait long time ..
