Chateau de la Commanderie

The Chateau de la Commanderie is nestled out of view in a beautiful park setting in Eybens, a walkable suburb just south of Grenoble. The staff was very accommodating, friendly and knowledgeable of the area attractions, and spoke excellent English as well as the native...French. The rooms were quite large by European standards, with a seating area, desk, large windows and park views. There were a myriad of outdoor seating areas to gather and enjoy the mountain views. The bed was very comfortable, the plumbing modern, and there was satellite TV available. There was no safe and also no toiletries other than soap, so plan to bring your own shampoo and lotions. Breakfast is available in charming rooms in the old chateau, though the value for the price was perhaps light. The evening meals available at the restaurant were delicious and priced commensurate to the area. Will definitely recommend if you prefer a quieter place than Grenoble’s city center.

my man and our two-year-old man were in juli two nights long. beautiful location and properties with extensive gardens and a beautiful pool. the personal could not have been more helpful to receive our request for a cot and a terrace so that we could somewhere to...escape when our daughter slept. the restaurant is closed on a Sunday and Monday, but they can order italian that we ate in the gardens or take a walk into the place. the château is perfect for the exploration of the alps near; the owner recommended a trip through the national park vercours, which integrates some of the most breathtaking landmarks I have seen. only the reason why we did not give 5 stars was eating in the restaurant not on our taste, but that is personal preference. the wine list was good and offers both quality and price a good choice. it is recommended to stay here an antidote too central in grenoble.

we had allowed lunch on a nice hot summer day soon after the break. the personal was friendly and helpful, but after the COVID shutdown it is clear and clear. the food presentation was excellent and for the greatest part was very good...indeed we had no choice but to sit in a table without shadow (the shadow area seemed reserved for the hotel and meeting room guests.) the real disappointment was the sommelier who forgot us came back late and then said it was our fault because we had taken too long to choose our food. honest, very rude and not professional for a restaurant of this quality we will not return due to this behavior.

Wir wählen dieses Hotel stets als Zwischenstopp auf der Fahrt in die Provence und werden dies auch weiterhin tun. Das Hotel gefällt uns sehr gut und bislang waren wir auch mit dem Restaurant zufrieden. Diesmal gab es aber eine herbe Enttäuschung. Nach zwei sehr leckeren Vorspeisen gab es 'Pave de Thon Snacke' und die Thunfischscheiben kamen fast roh auf den Tisch. Während meine Frau ihre Portion gegessen hat, aber nicht mit sehr viel Begeisterung, kam meine Portion wohl noch einmal in die Mikrowelle und dann hatte ich den Genuss eines recht bissfesten Fisches. Wir werden wohl beim nächsten Mal auf Fisch verzichten.

what a wonderful place: the castle itself, the decorations, the garden, the swimming pool and the spa, the dining rooms, the terrace...and the excellent food and service! I recommend this exceptional hotel and restaurant!
