Château de Mercuès

My wife surprised me with a birthday dinner at the hotel, and we now know why everyone should try a Michelin Star restaurant, and more specifically this restaurant! The restaurant is located in the Chateau which is an breathtaking backdrop, but hands down the food is the pièce de résistance!! I suggest that you order the chefs menu. It's specially made and the menu description states 7 course, but it's really more like 10 courses. We loved EVERYTHING! Be ready to experience the difference between eating a meal at a restaurant and having what we describe it as an event. Perfectly time phased tasteful masterpieces that are put together like a storyline. Moreover, the staff, the service, the food was hands down the best!!! Be prepared for this event to last about 3-1/2 to 4 hours. This is something that my wife and I will talk about for many years to come.

Excellent restaurant de très haute tenue. Le service est très attentionné et professionnel. L'arrivée des plats est cependant un peu longue sans que cela soit gênant tant l'environnement est spectaculaire. On resterait des heures à contempler ce lieu chargé d'histoire. Magique et bien entendu cher.

Curieux endroit: hotel remarquable accueil parfait chambre superbe...A côté de cela execution du repas mediocre (cuissons non maîtrisées notamment) qualité des produits perfectible service approximatif à part le sommelier Bref y dormir sans y manger....

The dinner was just excellent. Not overly complicated, very tasty and decent portions. The wine selection was also excellent. Looking forward to eat here again.
