the place looks beautiful from the outside, but our experience was an nightmare! I have booked this place months ago and received an immediate confirmation. to the frightening of my family when we went there, the hotel was closed! apparently the hotel sent me a...customer message week before and it went to my spam folder. they didn't even check if I had their email. they also did not and alternative in consideration of the cancellation was done a few days before the reservation. which decent hotel would be available for a family with this short message? I think the manager of this place is heartless! can you imagine that I have an old baby and we didn't have a place to sleep in the middle of...
Good honest French cooking, and the warmest of hospitality you could probably ever have. Relaxed pre-dinner aperitifs with other diners in the drawing room of the chateau with our host. Beautiful dining room, intimate tables. Nothing pretentious or stuffy, but you know it is a...different class when the silver fork tines are turned down on the table. There is no menu to choose from, it is the dinner for that day. Seasonally fresh produce, so for us chilled beetroot soup, a delicious beef casserole that only the French can do, then to finish a light creme frais with fruit compote. And then, you may help yourself to the honesty bar and enjoy the terrace. Just relax, admire the spotlight chapel...
we have booked this reservation a month in advance. we had two conformations of the fork. I'm sorry, but we arrived and we told the owner that the restaurant was closed. they said they had not received notification about our booking and also the restaurant. would not take outside of reservations, unless I had booked a room. we are not amused that this is happening, especially as it should be a special birthday meal for my mother in law, and had driven a distance there. trip advisor will get a longer note in the morning. but the search for the complaining email proved fruitless). we are not happy about thefork. we've appeared to our guests total idiots.
Our visit was very very disappointing, the food was certainly not at all as we would have expected, a basic salad followed by a lump of tasteless fish accompanied by a ratatouille only followed by a taste tatin which was probably bought in and blasted...in the microwave. Our room, The Yellow room was pleasant but the bathroom was horrible, the toilet in a cupboard with no ventilation and it smelt. My other problem was I had booked for nights at a fixed price and when we came to pay we were told he charged us far more and said they didn't do packages. I wouldn't return. Reserva una mesa ahora
Our stay itself was lovely as the Chateau and grounds are beautiful. The food, however, was awful. The first course soup included burnt fennel but was still served. It was almost inedible. The second course was a duck dish which was less than average. Anybody...would have produced this or better. The pudding wasn't too bad but nothing special. The setting was lovely but for a head, this was one of the poorest meals I've paid for! Breakfast in the morning was similarly overpriced for what was adequate but nothing special.
the breakfast here is historical. the best buffet I've ever experienced in France. also the dinners are nice and very well cooked. for guests, although I dinner in the chateau, I recommend giving the kitchen guests at least the choice of a main course, but. After all, there is a very good cook in the chateau kitchen, which is safe!
The chateau it self is a great place. But the staff and owner give horrible service. We got x bad undercooked food. They also refused to rectify it. Owner treat everyone as a lesser being than him self. Horrible as a host,...rude and unpolite. Never willing to go or do the extra for the guests. NOT RECOMENDED!!!!
