Château d'Orfeuillette

This is dining done well. Good local ingredients prepared with care and attention to detail, all served by attentive waiting staff.Highlights were a trio of asparagus and the black risotto served with the pork.A disappointment was the cheese course/selection. Pre-plated with no choice, which meant my rejection of anything goat based was a removal from the plate with no substitute. Desserts were fun and brimming with flavour. Wine selection was good as was the advice offered as well as the option of tasting a white before buying just a glass.An oddity we had not seen for many years was my wife being presented with a menu with no prices! Quite an absurd affectation In a modern era of equality....

The a la carte menu at the Chateau looked wonderful, but we had prebooked and a formula meal was included with accommodation and breakfast in our package.An interesting menu with some stylish fusion (oriental and French) courses - chef who clearly has the measure of both and delivers top quality. We were completely spoilt and the service was exceptional. Wouldn't hesitate to visit again as this site is just off the horrendously long A75 N/S route through the Massif Centrale.

We took dinner there and we could enjoy sophisticated dishes with the local beef and vegetables.Nice wine list.
