A friend brought me to Chau Veggie Express for my first taste of this 100% vegan restaurant on Granville Island. It's well worth the trek there!I was recommended the Golden Temple Soup and it was delicious. The broth is delightfully creamy and comforting, yet light and so flavorful with veggies that were done just right. It had a few too many tofu chunks for my personal preference, but so good overall. Very filling and feels fresh with a spectrum of colorful veggies. Also tried the spring rolls which were delightful tasty, and not thickly rolled or hard at all. The taro chips were also quite good; crispy, great flavor and came with a great dipping sauce.Next time, I look forward to exploring...

Got a midnight bowl for lunch today. Absolutely disgusting and stale food. And so pricey at 16$ before tax. The bowl consisted of a pile of massive raw chunks of broccoli, hard little pellets of rice drenched in a sickeningly sweet peanut sauce, and rubbery bean curd sheets that smelled stale and smelled like they were just taken out of the fridge (you know that smell food takes on when it’s been sitting in a freezer or fridge for ages). Absolutely waste of money and genuinely disgusting tasting food. Don’t be fooled by reviews, stay away from this place. Service was so poor too. The young Korean looking lady serving made zero attempt to be pleasant or nice. Zero manners or any real social s...

Honestly, I've been living in Vancouver for over 10 years, but I had never been to Granville Island until now. My friend was really excited and suggested we take our little ones there. She mentioned there’s a place called Chau Veggie in the food court, and I was thrilled. When we arrived, there was a long line, but it was worth the wait. I ordered Taro chips and the golden temple soup (curry), and I loved it so much that I wanted to have another bowl!

This is a fantastic public market to visit! It offers the perfect mix of lively energy, beautiful views, and delicious food. Chau features a wide variety of hearty and refreshing options, which are especially enjoyable during the summer heat. I highly recommend it! An added bonus is that almost everything they use for their orders is compostable. As a vegetarian restaurant, there are plenty of meat-free choices available. Reserva una mesa ahora

Overall I wasn't too impressed. I normally like the one on Victoria but this was one of the fewer vegan/ vegetarian places on Granville Island. I mean it wasn't bad, but I just wasn't too impressed with my noodle soup. It did have a lot of vegetables which is great! But it also seems like something I can make at home by myself very easily. The noodles were clumpy as well.

Alright, let me start by saying that I'm not a vegetarian. I really enjoy a delicious steak, and in my opinion, the only thing better than crispy bacon is incredibly tender, slow-cooked pork belly. However, when I visited Granville Island in May, I noticed that a new Chau Veggiexpress had opened in the food court, so I decided to give it a try.

I tried the Rickety Rickshaw Salad, which included three small, very oily spring rolls. Overall, the dish was lacking in flavor. When we went back to request an extra fish sauce to enhance the taste and share our disappointment, they insisted on charging us an additional $1 for it.

As a gluten-free vegetarian, I was thrilled to discover this restaurant. I ordered the Rickety Rickshaw Bowl and it exceeded my expectations. The Iced Vietnamese Coffee was another fantastic choice. Reserva una mesa ahora

Shared the rice fields bowl! Amazing and enough to share. The counter lady was very helpfu. The Vietnamese coffee was perfect with coconut milk
