Looking for a stylish place to eat? Checker’s Bistro! My wife brought me here for a birthday dinner. It was the first time for both of us, and we were very satisfied with the service and food! We had the roasted beet salad and lobster mac n cheese for our appetizers. I wasn't very excited when she mentioned she wanted to order beet salad. So I ordered the Macn cheese (usually we share an appetizer), but the beet salad was almost better than the Macn cheese that comes with Gruyere and Parmigiano Reggiano cheese. We ate the grilled Prosciutto fig pizza and beef Bouruignon for our entrées. The Bouruignon was a big consolation for a cold December night. So much that our dinner was at 7:30, and we both wanted to go home and sleep.

Only my second visit, but I really like this place. We went to the bar during the Happy Hour and scanned some different items from this menu. But if you don't already know, the duck tacos here are one of the best bites of food you can in Lancaster. Duck, roasted Winton, hoisins sauce, cilantro and maybe... Guac? We've ordered two plates. The Risotto balls were delicious. They also made a good lobster and best pizza with fantastic dough, beautiful cheese... but much too much arugula. The greens exaggerated the subtle taste of lobster. Oh, a nice Manhattan and fresh Firestone Walker did nothing. I'm very happy to go back.

Wonderful restaurant! The atmosphere of the place is fine food, but the price is affordable. Lighting is a little dark. Our server Laura was sweet and attentive. They ran out of what I ordered, but gave me a comparable ( cheaper) record for the same (less) price of what I ordered: thank you! The portions are generous, which is atypical for fine food. The food is great! The wine list is extensive. You also have beer from local brewing machines. Great place for a date night!

We all got the chicken, and it was amazing! Lovely ambience, great service, and the food was wonderful. Loved the 1920 's speakeasy music playing, not too loud to enjoy conversation, but loud enough to set the mood. To top things off, we mentioned that we were celebrating my new job, and they surprised us with an after-dinner sorbet for everyone! What a classy and thoughtful touch!
