checkin Cafe & Bar

Wir waren im Rahmen eines Fluges mit dem Roten Baron vom Flughafen Essen/Mühlheim vorab im checkin, um dort gemütlich eine Tasse Cafe zu trinken und eine Waffel zu essen. Die Lage des Cafes ist erstklassig - direkt am Flughafen wahlweise zum drinnen oder draußen sitzen mit schönen Blick auf das Rollfeld und alles, was da so los ist. Dafür 5 Sterne.Alles weitere ist hier leider nicht zu empfehlen. Mit sechs Personen haben wir fünf Warm- und ein Kaltgetränk bestellt sowie fünf Waffeln und ein Stück Käsekuchen. Die Getränke kamen recht zügig, die ersten zwei Waffeln nach ca. 15 Minuten, die nächsten zwei Waffeln mit erneut 15 Minuten Zeitverzug - man merkt, das Eisen scheint nicht das schnellst...

Everything is prepared fresh and the service was friendly and fun.They have a "Burger-Konfigurator" menu that allows you to "have it your way", with over 20 different options. Meeting point for all pilots, visits and passengers. Here you can rest properly and drink a cup of coffee or even eat a tasty seasonal food. 100 seats and the chairs are cozy. Then there's a lot out there where you can see the planes nicely. In summer he sits here wonderfully. The prices are partially overpriced, but for this it is a great atmosphere. Open from Tuesday to Sunday from 10am Warm kitchen from 11:30am. Conclusion: Here you can recover from the flight.

Wenige rustikale Holztische mit relativ unbequemen Stühlen stehen im karg ausgestatteten Raum. Aus den Fenstern blickt man aufs Rollfeld und zur Start-/Landebahn. Draußen liegt neben dem Raucherbereich ein großzügiger Außenbereich/Biergarten.Speisekarte hat Niveau einer gehobenen Pommesbude. Die Schnitzel waren gut, Beilagen umfangreich und mit Süßkartoffelfrites geschmacklich interessant.Der Service war freundlich.

Awesome terrace with a panorama view onto the tarmac of Mülheim/Essen City Airport. Private jets and small planes, plus the zeppelin and the old double-decker Rote Baron are all on view. Great food, too! I've been living in Mülheim my whole life and never went...here... It just didn't occur to me. Now I will come back more often. It really is a very cool and unique place!

Super Lage,direkt am Rollfeld.Kleine aber feine Karte.Qualität des Essens ist aber gut!Häufig auch gegrilltes !Lohnt sich bei schönem Wetter für einen Ausflug,erst recht wenn man Flugbegeistert ist
