this restaurant could not be strategically placed for a magnificent panoramic view of the Swiss alps. it sits on a steep hill in the heigts above the thunsee and looks at the lake and the imposing mountain beyond, with more mountain ranges up to cloged summits behind one of the naves that lead into the berner above. the restaurant itself is built with many wooden beams and sport, an almost continuous glass front to the valley side of the curved building. so they sit on an almost improbable Swiss mountain scene by lush madows with skewbald cows, their bells around their näckens sound peaceful, steep mountain sides and shed drops on the blue water of the sea far down, dotted with the whte sail...
A very good restaurant in itself, high-quality, fresh food, beautifully presented, but: we were served by Miss Rottenmeier herself! From the beginning we didn't seem to like her, she was very rude, annoyed, brought the wrong drinks, was even more annoyed because of that, then didn't want to turn on the light when it got dark and had this spiteful tone the whole time, which bothered me it's somewhat reminiscent of the military and she's the general. Fact: This older lady does not belong in a company with customer contact. The whole thing left a very unpleasant and bad aftertaste for us, it's a shame, but we won't be coming back and can't recommend the restaurant, 1 star for the good cuisine
We were able to celebrate our wedding party in the Chemihütte on June 23rd, 2023 and it was a wonderful evening for us! The hall was well prepared, the two service women were extremely courteous, humorous and friendly. Even when we celebrated late into the night, our wishes were fulfilled. The food was excellent as always and the dessert buffet was great. Rooms were made available to us in the morning so we could change. Great service! The rooms are simply furnished but very comfortable and offer a beautiful view of the lake. We felt very comfortable and were able to enjoy a wonderful party! Thank you very much for that!
We have gone to the Chemihutte dozens of times over the last 10 years. It is a family owned restaurant and both the Chef and his wife (who works as a host in the restaurant are well over 65 years old. Good traditional Swiss food....Nothing fancy or gourmet. Just good eatin' and the service is friendly. Reserve a window table for a great view of the lake valley from the lake of Thun to the lake of Brienz. Enjoy!! Reserva una mesa ahora
The location and the view over the Lake of Thun (Thunersee) is spectacular. The food is typical Swiss, including cheese fondue. It's great for families and there's lots of outdoor and indoor dining space. Swiss restaurants are more expensive than in the EU, but this...Restaurant is mid-range for Switzerland, especially considering its prime location (Panorama view).
we had not visited this restaurant for a few years, but are happy to say that it is as good as never, if not better. the waitress was efficient, attentive and did her the best to speak English with us. the food was well prepared and beautifully presented. the view of the restaurant is stunning. they make a point to go here when they are in the opposite.
chemihutte is so big and amazing on the [panoramic view of the swiss alps its so fantastic place and eating so well hot and locally we had steak and salat, which we must say was perfect the service was excellent as the food and drink and we could see mountain and seen just amazing this is a place they must come
