The service at this restaurant was incredibly hospitable, truly reflecting the warmth of the local Newfoundland community. I ordered the fish and chips, and they were excellent. The batter was light and crispy, which really brought out the flavor of the fish. However, I think it might make the chicken taste a bit bland. The chips appeared to be hand-cut and had a hearty texture, though they weren't particularly crispy—similar to the fries from Five Guys. Overall, it was a great experience, and I would definitely recommend giving it a try.
The fish and chips and poutine are fantastic, and the prices are excellent for the portion sizes. The restaurant has plenty of cozy seating and has a charming, slightly old-school vibe. The staff were very friendly and offered helpful suggestions.
The service was excellent, and the charming atmosphere of the chip shop added to the experience. Unfortunately, both the fish and chips were quite greasy and had a flavor that suggested they had been fried in old oil.
Omg besides even the fact the food is always on point, the service is the best I’ve had anywhere. The server is so nice, makes you feel like you’re at home with friends. Will be back everytime I come home!!

Meh. Ordered fish and chips dinner, it was ok, but didn't give me any tartar sauce for my take out which was disappointing. $15 for what I got wasn't impressive. I've gotten better for half the price.

As usual Ches's never fails to deliver. Amazing fish and chips with a one of a kind atmosphere.
This is my first time to Newfoundland, but I'm a big fan of fish and chips in the states.
