Small little restaurant and although it wasn't very busy, our reserved table was right beside a young couple that appeared to be out for a romantic evening. It would have been better to have placed us one over to give us all a chance for private conversations. The fresh bread, especially the rosemary focaccia, with the herb butter was super and baked on the premises. The menu was not for the non adventurous eater. I tend to not eat a lot of animal product so it was very limiting for me. I opted for the soup of the day which was a chilled cucumber soup served with gingered crab, pickled almonds, green Thai curry foam, mint and sprouts. The presentation was rather spectacular. The truffle frites were to die for! The roasted beet salad (I believe it was version #4) was very enjoyable......and again the presentation was awesome. At first glance it looked like the beets were few but there were many chunks of both golden and red beets under the row of greens. The tahini and grilled halloumi, candied pistachios and blackberry vinaigrette added to the flavour. The Asian Brussels sprouts were way too over crispy and salty and I couldn't do the pork floss so had it on the side. Did not enjoy this dish at all. The beef with pink peppercorns, smashed potatoes was a healthy portion with nice flavours. The wine selection was decent and attention was paid to allergies. Enjoyed the fig and cranberry scones for breakfast the next morning. Nice to get a parting gift.
