Indulge in delicious and affordable Szechuan cuisine at this fascinating location that shares space with the renowned fried chicken restaurant, Poulet Bronze. You must experience the amazing flavors here! The food is consistently excellent and the service is top-notch. Don't miss the complimentary appetizer of edamame beans. I highly recommend trying the Szechuan fish in the spicy and numbing broth – it's a must-try! Due to its popularity, it's advisable to make a reservation in advance.
The food is really incredible here and the service is really friendly. The prices are above average but are still very reasonable. I have nothing to complain about. We ordered the braised pork, the fried chicken, cumin lamb and the Shanghai noodles. Everything was delicious, with the fried chicken being the most flavorful. Definitely will be going back.
The service is friendly and they serve delicious hot tea that is not bland or watery. The Chinese food is very authentic and the service is quick. I ordered fried rice, pork stew, and stir-fried vegetables, and everything was delicious and authentic. The dishes were on the saltier side, which paired well with white rice. The portions were generous.
Chez Chen offers a variety of dishes from northern China at reasonable prices. They serve unique dishes not typically found in Chinese restaurants. The food at this restaurant is okay. The lunch combo is affordable. I tried the salt and pepper fried chicken, which was delicious but had too thick of a breading. The service was top-notch and I really liked the tea, hot and sour soup, and beans.
While the prices are on the higher side, there are a few minor issues here and there. Overall, this is a good restaurant. The dishes can be a bit too salty for some, but that is to be expected with authentic Northern Chinese cuisine.
One of the few north-eastern Chinese restaurant you can find in Montreal. Do try their crispy pork and stone pot, but I am disappointed that they changed recently their traditional salad to a 'rainbow ' salad.
