Went to Chec Maurice and Linda last night with a party of 6 after a long time between visits and while the owners have changed and a new chef is in charge of the kitchen the standard of cuisine has not changed, if anything it is better. The range of items on the menu, which is a fixed 2 or 3 choice, was fantastic, our table tried the liver, snails, oysters which were all cooked to perfection. The main courses ranged from Beef Wellington, lambs brains, snails in garlic butter, steaks and lamb with everyone commenting on the taste, presentation and cooked to our requirements perfectly. Finished off with profiteroles - which were unbelievably great, Swans - a meringue masterpiece and a perfectl...

We last visited this restaurant over ten years ago and even though it has changed owners the French food is still beautiful. It has a set price menu for 1, 2 or 3 courses and is reasonably priced at approx $60 for 3 courses. Not trendy french food but old fashioned home cooked style food. Many favourites like snails, duck and rack of lamb are on the menu. This restaurant always had a great reputation and nothing has changed, it is still lovely tasty french food. You need to book as it is very popular and it is byo. We will definitely come back here again soon. Great friendly service, lovely french food, a must to try. It may not look flash from the outside but you must try the lovely food.

Brains, snails, offal, onion soup - all French, all tasty with the right accompaniments . Then again, the Beef Wellington, The Steak au poivre , the rack of lamb, the Duck L''Orange are all traditional French fare - all cooked well but nothing particularly special. At $50 for 2 courses and $60 for 3 courses, it is reasonably priced but the disappointing feature of the night was how many tables they managed to pack into the small space (about 3 or 4 too many, I would say).. This meant constantly talking with raised voices to be heard. This also provided a problem for a service squeezing and reaching over etc - but at least it was provided with a degree of charm and humour.

This is your typical suburban French restaurant..The food is a decent French feed for the price. The seafood pancakes are always worth a try..as well as their nightly specials..My only criticism is the tables are too close together and there is only one person serving, which makes it a bit hard to order, especially when its busy.I suggest you turn up for a table after 8 that way all of the early birds have ordered and are probably on desert leaving you and your friends to get served in the not so manic manor.Saying that the free pate is a great touch and the food is always above. par.Give it a try..you might be pleasantly surprised. This is one of our locals and it's about 4 years between visits. The menu is quite classic, with some variations. Our jovial waiter was on the ball and made us feel welcome. The food was as good as some we've had in France and it brought back fond memories of our time there. It's a great family style atmosphere, a bit like going to dinner at a friend's home.

Outstanding service and food. Only a small place perhaps 40 seats. Nice atmosphere with friendly staff and an excellent menu. I had the pepper steak and it melted in my mouth. As good as places I have eaten at twice the cost. Four persons with 4 mains and 4 desserts with corkage was $200. Great value. Must book and it is ONLY BYO. Duck was as good a Beijing

I know this restaurant has been around for 30 years or so, but it has maintained the excellence in food and service. It couldn't be better.Seafood pancake to start, following by Beef Wellington and then cheese & fruit to finish.Great value. B.Y.O. drinks. Not licensed.Best to phone and book

We have been coming to this place for more than 15 years, the menu hasn't changed much over the years and that's why we keep coming back, we like the traditional French dishes. Reserva una mesa ahora

Went there on a Saturday night with friends. The service is good and the ambience is reasonable. The food is good, but not great. However, it is reasonable value for money.
